While this week at Liverpool has been dominated by questions over incomings – and what a week it has been in that regard! – on Friday came news of a serious of outgoings at Anfield.
The Reds have published their official ‘retained list’ as submitted to the Premier League. This details those who will be contracted to the club next season, those who have been offered new contract terms, and those who will continue their scholarships with the Academy.
And, of course, those who will be moving on to pastures new this summer.
There are seven players in total who have been released by Liverpool this week.
The only ‘senior’ name on the list, and the most senior player at the club. Manning was a surprise signing last summer, penning a one-year deal, but appears to have been signed more for his off-field influence than anything else.
The Austrian, who turned 40 last week, did not make a single appearance for the Reds, and recently told James Pearce he was set to return to his home country to work as a joiner. Read more
