The English giants have a strong fan base in Ghana, however, last Sunday marked a special moment for all Blues fans as a service was held to celebrate the club’s win of the 2016/17 league trophy. Chelsea were champions of the EPL 2016/17 season The head pastor of the Living Streams International Church, Reverend Azigiza – who is known to be a staunch Chelsea supporter- dedicated last Sunday’s service to the Blues, urging the club’s faithful to report to church in their respective jerseys.

The service seems to have reached Chelsea FC, and the club acknowledged the gestures by the church. Portions of a post on the club’s official website read: “The Living Streams International Church in Accra on Sunday held a big church service to celebrate Chelsea’s 2016/17 English Premier League title success. Supervised by one of Ghana’s famous preacher-men, Pastor Azigiza, and hosted by Rev. Dr Ebenezer Markwei (an Arsenal fan), members dressed in their Chelsea jerseys with a cake also to celebrate the success.” Read more
